Five/Nine.
On May 9, 2015, the hacker group, fsociety, carried out its most major hack against its primary target, E Corp. E Corp, as one of the largest conglomerates in the world with financial interests both diverse and massive, stood to lose a fuckton.

The hack was designed to de-stabilize the financial markets, destroy financial records, and re-distribute wealth in America, in keeping with fsociety's anarchistic power-to-the-people-and-only-the-people dogma.

In Feburary 2015, fsociety has risen out of the depths of the internet and began to plague E Corp. After a large-scale DDoS attack and a destructive infection of E Corp's server CS30, an investigation uncovered that E Corp's own chief technology officer, Terry Colby, had played a key role in fsociety's hack of serve CS30.

Colby's arrest on March 2nd did not cease fsociety's assault on E Corp. fsociety released videos demanding the release of their leader, Terry Colby. As Colby's attorneys battled charges and his reps claimed his innocence to anyone who would listen, fsociety carried out Five/Nine with cooperation from the notorious Chinese hacker group, the Dark Army.

In the wake of Five/Nine, E Corp's credit records were wiped out, its servers were frozen, its stocks tanked, its banks shuttered, its production halted. Gridlocked and plagued, E Corp froze customer accounts. The public's faith in the conglomeration bled and bled. E Coin, the popular virtual money system, was worthless. The American economy was left in tatters. President Barack Obama swore to catch fsociety and restore the country.

An FBI investigation was opened on fsociety, and revealed Tyrell Wellick, prominent senior staff member at E Corp, to be the true key figure at the center of fsociety. Wellick had dropped off the face of the map after Five/Nine, and his wife, Joanna Wellick, remained pristine and untouchable in the couple's stylish home, protected by lawyers and bodyguards.

Meanwhile, fsociety's rot continued. Far from beaten, E Corp rallied. Far from beaten, fsociety had a senior staffer of E Corp publicly burn a pile of money in a New York City park. E Corp ran ads reassuring the public of their stability. fsociety released videos full of wild rhetoric and threat. Graffiti of fsociety's iconic mask begins to appear all over the country.
